Haul: Boots, Daiso, Burberry cosmetics, Make Up Forever

Haul and Mini Review: Boots, Daiso, Burberry cosmetics, Make Up Store, Make Up Forever

(This was not a one time shopping trip! AND by no means am I trying to boast. I just wanted to share my shopping trips to you guys out there and see what products are available. Not trying to show off, but just want to share.)

HELLO! SO! I have been stressed out (one of those phase that you feel lost in life). Hence, I decided to release stress (guys, release stress for girls equals shopping). Now, I am back with no stress, but full of guilt. I try to justify it by thinking 'at least I can do my mom's make up in the future'.

Daiso hair band

The first item I bought was a hair band used when applying, or taking off your makeup. Unlike other hair bands, this one has bows (PINK ONES); plus it is only 60 baht in Daiso. I am not sure if every Daiso has this particular hair band, but the Daiso I went was in The Mall Bang Kapi.

Batiste Dry Shampoo: big and bouncy XXL volume

Next item I bought was from Boots in The Mall Bang Kapi, and it is the Batiste dry shampoo big and bouncy XXL volume. This 350 baht dry shampoo with amazing ability to volumize a flat greasy hair to the puffy hairstyle shown in the 'Hairsray musical' contains 200 ml of product.

Well, this might be a little of exaggeration, but something like the woman above. Although it might not be this fluffy (I meant the hair), but I would have to say it does a great job in absorbing the oil from your hair and adding some oomph to your hairstyle. You can also create a very easy 'bed head' hairstyle with this. In addition, it has a soothing fragrance to it. If you do not like the XXL effect, then there are other dry shampoos to try out too!

All cosmetics
I picked up five cosmetics from Burberry. The first four are all eyeshadows. For a mini review, I would say they have the most butter-y texture among all the eyeshadows I own. I am not sure what chemical/substance differentiates this butter-y feeling, but I sure do love it. And after wearing it for awhile, the color seems to become more glossy (not oily) on my lids. The four colors I chose were 'Taupe Brown No.7', 'Porcelain White No. 25', 'Midnight Brown No. 21', 'Almond No. 06' (from left to right in order). The packaging, I would have to say it pretty heavy for one eyeshadow, but this woudl fit those of you who like sturdy packaging. I would not say it is the ideal packaging for traveling. Each of the eyeshadow has its own mirror and an eyeshadow applicator. They all contained 2.5 g of product and costs around 1,100 baht (with 7% tax in Thailand).

'Taupe Brown No.7'

'Porcelain White No. 25'

 'Midnight Brown No. 21'

 'Almond No. 06'

The fifth product from Burberry was a black pencil liner. It is called the 'Midnight Black No.01'. The special thing about this eye pencil is that it is applies very smoothly. It does not irritate my lower eyelash area, but I would have to say it does smuge a little bit, hence good for people who want a smoky look by smuging out the eyeliner. This eyeliner consists of 1.25 g. The price is around 900 baht. The purpose of buying five of these is to create the 'Fall/Winter' look by Burberry (if any of you would like to see it, you may comment below). For all of those 'Siam Paragon Shopaholics' ( I am not sure of other department stores), you could have a twelve percent discount if you have a Kasikorn Bank Platinum card with the same about of points as you purchasing. For example, if you are purchasing 1,000 baht worth of cosmetics and you have 1,000 points in you Kasikorn Bank card, then you could have an addition twelve percent discount. On top of that, if you have the Siam Paragon Prestige card, you could redeem some gift vouchers. I think for every 800 points, you get 100 baht gift voucher. This would save you a lot of money when buying products like Burberry cosmetics.

Midnight Black No.1 Pencil eyeliner (middle one)

As you can see from the overview cosmetics picture (above), I did pick up some Make Up Store cosmetics, two lipsticks and three lip liners.
STORY and Redwood Creme

The left lipstick is called 'STORY' and the right one is 'Redwood Creme'. STORY is a red lipstick with golden shimmers in it, while the Redwood Creme is a nudy pink color. They both apply to a matte color, but I feel like the STORY is more moisturizing.

Russian matt, In The Flashlight, Knitted Pink

To go along with Redwood Creme, I bought a lip liner called 'Knitted Pink'. I perfectly matches the lipstick and makes your lips look fuller although its a nude color. As for STORY, I paired it with 'Russian matt'. This allows me to make crisp lines on my lips to create the perfect shape for my lips in red. The last lip liner is 'In The Flashlight'. For this, I have to admit, I have not reason to buy it. I just like it.

8L, 12L, 4L, 3L and Star Powder 90916

The last place I shopped in (for this week) was Make Up Forever in Central Lad Prao. The girl at the shop told me Make Up Forever is going to be discontinued 'in Thailand', therefore, they are going on a 40% sale, except foundation, concealer and primers, which are only 20% discount (better than nothing). I decided to get some 'Aqua Eyes' pencil eyeliners. The colors are 8L, 12L, 4L, 3L (I am not sure if they are called like that or not, but that is the only thing I see). I tested these out before, and their staying power is unbelievable and glides evenly on your eyelid. PERFECTO! Now that it is 40%, EVEN MORE PERFECTO! These colors in my opinion are also fantastic for the coming fall/winter season. Last but not least, I got the pigment in 'Star Powder 90916'. It is a pink/golden color with a holographic effect (it sizzled my eyes).

*If any of you would want a further review of these products, you could comment below, and I will be sure to post it as soon as possible.

Burgundy Look for Fall

Burgundy For Fall

"Sorry for horrible eyebrows :s"

So!!! I was a little free today and thought of making a fall look for everyone out there !!! And no I am not a professional makeup artist, but just someone who loves to play around with makeup during my breaks. For this look, I emphasized the burgundy/red color and left other parts of my face neutral. On my eyes, I used MAC's limited edition 'On The Hunt' eyeshadow duo from the 'STYLESEEKER' collection. It is the right color from the duo to color. I put the burgundy color on the upper crease of my lids from the inner end of the eye to the other and dragging it down on my lower lash line. Then, I used the Urban Decay's NAKED palette to intensify in the sockets of the eye lids and a tint of purple color from the Sweet Princess 3 in 1 Eyeshadow trio that I recently bought (see my first post for the review of the eyeshadow trio). After that, I used Loreal Super Liner to draw a thin line on my upper lash line and one quarter of the lower lash line. Last but not least, I curled my lashes and you can apply the mascara of your choice. TA-DA!

These were the products I used.

(PS: Sorry for the poor description :( I tried my best)

Jergens Overnight Repair

Dry Skin? Buy Jergens.

Its coming to the end of the year, which means winter is right around the corner. Yey!!!! I will be going back to UK in a few weeks, the land of coldness all year round and colder during winter. I would need to bring with me a lotion/ cream that will prevent/ cure me from dry skin. And I have found it !!!! Jergens' overnight repair body moisturizer is the first lotion that actually works overnight (well at least for me) I would highly recommend anyone who could find this to buy one, even if it is not in the winter time. It states that " nightly restoring moisturizer with evening primrose worth of damage overnight for visibly smoother skin ". It does what it claims to do so. It absorbs into the skin quickly and does not leave any sticky residue. There is nothing bad to comment about except it is a little more expensive than the normal lotions I have used before (which does make sense to me in a way), and they do not do any floral/ fruity scents (so sorry for those who enjoy lathering fragranced lotion at night.... I do not think this is the product for you) But, overall I would say its a great product for its price.

Fresh Sugar Lip Polish

Fresh Sugar Lip Polish Review

The Box and the packaging.

Inside the container.

Recently, I went to Singapore, and yes, I miss it. But that it not the main point!!!!! I dropped by Sephora in Marina Bay Sands and picked up some makeup including the fresh sugar lip polish. Inside the container consists of a brownish-sugary product with some herbal-ly smell to it. After using a few times I feel like it does its job, but I would still recommend Lush's lip exfoliator (sugar) since its less of a hassle to work with. Why? Because the fresh sugar lip polish needs to be washed of after exfoliating, but for Lush's lip exfoliator, you do not need to wash your lips with water, instead you could lick off the excess sugar exfoliated on your lips (plus it tastes sugary like a candy which is always a plus for me).

Sweet Princess

"Sweet Princess" Cosmetics Swatches and Review

Eyeshadow: "pretty pink", Blush: "soft pink"

This is the new drugstore brand I recently found in Watsons (Thailand). It is called "Sweet Princess". During the inexpensive price, I bought two of their products just to test out the quality. The eyeshadow trio was around 139 baht (about $4.30) , and the blush costed 129 baht (about $4). These were made in Thailand and sold exculsively for Watsons Your Personal Store.
On both of the packaging, they claim to have vitamin C, vitamin E and Sakura extract, which are beneficial for moisturizing the skin.

Left three are eyeshadows (violet, baby pink, and white highlight) and the far right is the blush color.

In my opinion, I think the eyeshadows are very frosty. They remind me of the Japanese/Korean cosmetics which are very glittery and shiny. They are not as pigmented as the maybelline eyeshadows but build-able colors. Although they need some effort to bring out the true colors, they are not cake-y to the point I can not work with (like some drugstore cosmetics). There were other trios on the shelf. I think they were blues, browns, and grey/black. I was little on the fence to buy brown and ditch the pink, but since I have so many nude eyeshdaow palettes/ natural eyeshadow colors, I decided to choose colors I never owned before. As for the blush, I think it is pigmented compared to the eyeshadows. The baby pink is a pretty good match for the trio that I bought to construct a fresh/teenage/innocent/cute/japanese look. It glides on well and does not feel too much for an everyday look. Both of the products did not have a smell (if they did, there werent strong enought to irritate me). Overall, at this moment, I am pretty impressed with the products I bought. Now I will be off try to create some looks using these two products ..... (la la la la....)
